Dear Friends,
Thank you and God bless you! Your support and prayers enable us to serve the Lord in this Mission field.
This week I had an encouraging phone call from a former inmate. He told me he had been in jail several times, but the last time was in the mid 90’s. He was housed in a Christian cell, which was Main 3R at that time. While there, he studied God’s word and turned his life over to the Lord. He was there for a few months. He is now married, working, and very involved in his church. He expressed his appreciation for having the opportunity to be in a Christian discipleship cell while in jail because that enabled him to get his life turned around and headed in the right direction. We presently have 3 such cells for men, and one for the female inmates. This is one of our best ways to help inmates receive in-depth studies into God’s Word.
We also have teaching in many other areas with groups of inmates, from 3 to 20 at a time. We very greatly appreciate our many volunteers who are faithful in their ministry in this place and do much of this ministry. We have volunteers who have been coming in to spread God’s Word for over 20 years, as well as our excited new missionaries who have caught the vision God has put on their hearts for the harvest. About 1/4 of all the salvations and rededications we report to you each month are a result of our volunteers love, patience, time, and prayers for these desperate souls who are looking for the light that they bring. Time and time again, when these dedicated men and women have finished sharing with the inmates we see the joy on their faces that only sharing the Love of God can bring, and we are grateful.
This last month, May, we saw 166 inmates come to the Lord, and another 238 rededicate their lives to Him.
Thank you again for your prayers and support, and may the Lord bless and keep you and yours.
In His Wonderful Name,
Joseph E. McGahey
